Our apprentice roles involve working with a number of technical experts in different areas to develop your technical knowledge. This could be in TV and multimedia, cyber security, faster broadband, optics, software, data analytics or mobile. In some cases you'll be working on collaborative projects with other global research and technology organisations. As well as the technology, you'll develop your skills in problem solving, setting up and running experiments and tests, analysing and interpreting data, producing proof-of-concept prototypes, keeping up to date with technology and industry trends, project management, developing intellectual property and presenting your work to customers. Towards the end of your apprenticeship, you'll choose and pursue a technical specialism.

The academic partner for this apprenticeship is the University of Exeter, and apprentices will work towards an BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions, specialising in Data Analytics or Cyber Security. Study will be through a combination of a 3-4 day residential block once per term at the university's Exeter campus, e-learning from Adastral Park, and work-based projects. More information on this degree can be found on the University of Exeter website.

Apprentices will be based at BT's Global R&D headquarters, Adastral Park in Suffolk.
